Golden Light and Wildflowers: A Wausau Family Photography Session
After days of rain and hazy skies, the clouds finally cleared just in time for this session — and the reward was one of the most beautiful, glowy, golden sunsets I’ve seen in a while. The light poured over the wildflower field, wrapping everything in warmth and making the orange and yellow blooms glow like something out of a dream. Once that golden light hit, I didn’t want to stop taking pictures.
We were celebrating a special milestone — a sweet little girl turning one — alongside her gentle and playful two-and-a-half-year-old big sister. The girls took a little time to warm up, but that’s part of the magic of family sessions… letting kids find their rhythm and comfort at their own pace. The youngest, not quite walking yet, was happiest in her parents’ arms or exploring the flowers close by. Her big sister, calm but with a sparkle of mischief, loved playing chase with Mom and Dad and was so proud to carry the bubble machine, sending shimmering bubbles floating across the field.
As the session went on, those little personalities began to shine. The older sister became chatty and full of life, asking questions and running down the path. The younger one lit up with sweet baby claps, such a fun milestone, holding tight to her family and smiling in that way that melts hearts. By the end, the air was filled with laughter, playful chatter, and the soft sound of bubbles drifting away in the breeze.
While I’m not sharing their faces to honor the family’s privacy, you’ll still see the way the light danced through their hair, the way little hands clutched wildflowers, and the way love was woven into every movement.
This family’s joy was undeniable. You could feel it in the way they looked at their girls, in how much they delighted in chasing, hugging, and playing with them. It was one of those evenings that reminded me exactly why I love what I do — capturing love, connection, and fleeting little moments that will be treasured for years to come.
If you’re looking to capture your family’s special moments while honoring your values and privacy, I’d love to work with you. Whether you want to share full-face, silly grins, and sassy scowls, or prefer to keep your children’s identities private online, I’m here to create beautiful, meaningful images that feel just right for your family. Reach out today to book a session where your family’s comfort and story come first.
