Las Vegas Part 1
Instead, we went to Red Rock Casino, who put on an excellent show just after dark. It was windy enough that cancellations were a concern, and you could see a few fireworks that were a little low. But overall, the fireworks were amazing! They did an awesome job, and many areas around the city were going off at the same time, so if you were up high enough, you could see fireworks in every direction!

Celebration of Life for Steve Wedekind
Yesterday, we celebrated the life of my Dad, Steve Wedekind. Because I didn’t take any pictures of the Celebration, I’m going to showcase one of the ways my Dad is living on in our lives instead.

Zdanowski Extended Family Session~ Manitowoc, WI
You may recognize a few faces in this extended family session- Amber and Chris were some of my first clients, and I have had the joy of capturing their family every year as their family has grown.
This time, Amber brought the whole clan!
We were really worried about the weather on this one- the forecast suddenly changed, and we were looking at downpours at the time of their session!
It’s so difficult to get everyone’s schedule to line up for an extended family session like this, so postponing was the last thing we wanted to do.

Visiting Great Grandma
This past Sunday, we spent the afternoon at my Grandma’s house- Everett’s Great Grandma Barb!

Willow Blossoms
This tree was one of the first plants to show signs of life this spring. The soft, fuzzy catkins grew in early and slowly bloomed out into these yellow and orange blossoms until quickly drooping and giving way to soft green leaves.

Lunar Eclipse
This lunar event was the perfect way to get Everett excited for summer school. When I told him that we were almost done with homeschool for the summer, he said he didn’t want to stop learning- and what an excellent way to show him that learning doesn’t just happen at the kitchen table, but all around us as we experience the Earth and build a life we can be excited about.
Check out a few of the pictures as the moon moved into our shadow and turned that epic red color of the Blood Moon!

Dreamy Leaves in Spring
I just love these dreamy leaves, with all the blur and bokeh in the background! This right here is why I needed a macro lens. And yes, it was definitely a need versus a want!

Springtime Go-Kart Driving
This wasn’t Everett’s first time out with his Coleman go-kart this year, but it was the first time it was nice enough to bring out my camera! He loves to see how fast he’s going- his favorite pictures aren’t the ones where I freeze motion completely, but the one’s that show the wheels spinning fast and the grass flying-and they might be my favorites too!

Choosing your Wedding Photographer

A New Chapter: Hello Wausau, WI!
We are officially residents of Wausau, Wisconsin!
Moving my photography business will be a challenge, but I’m exited to start capturing the beautiful landscapes of Central Wisconsin, and meeting new families who also call Wausau home!

Emma~ Cadott High Class of 2022
Emma’s graduate session was one of the last session’s I squeezed in just before the warm fall colors turned to cold of winter. She picked out a beautiful location in Dixon’s Apple Orchard. It had everything- trees with plenty of gorgeous fall colors, a field of tall grass, and a cute little pond. We had fun walking around the grounds and finding the cutest places to take pictures.

Metrics Martial Arts~ Adult Class
I got to spend another day at Metrics Martial Arts in Appleton, Wisconsin! I absolutely love hanging out during Eric’s classes- and even better, I get to document all of them!

Metrics Martial Arts~ Youth Classes
I’m so excited to share more images from Metrics Martial Arts in Appleton, Wisconsin! Watching the kids in both youth classes is so fun!

Beautiful Hearts Rescue ~Hertle, WI
I was so excited to be back at Beautiful Hearts Rescue! When I think of my happy place, I never would have thought it would be in a field filled with horses and donkeys and the occasional goat… but it is!

Fire in the Way- Chetek, WI
We had just passed Chetek going Southbound on Hwy 53 when a firetruck with its lights on started merging onto the highway. I slowed down and let the firetruck go ahead of me, and then just stayed as far back as I could.
Suddenly, that cloud of smoke wasn’t in the distance- it was all around us. We literally drove straight into a fire that was spreading in the ditches and across the highway. The smoke came up so quickly, the woman in the car ahead of me almost rear-ended the truck we were following.

Family Pictures: Worried about your kids not cooperating?
Don’t be. Here’s a few reasons why you don’t need to worry about whether or not your kids will behave well enough for a photoshoot:
